$1,000 - Nurse Anesthesia Students in the Third World

In honor of Jackie Davis, the Samford University Department of Nurse Anesthesia set up a Medical Mission Fund. This fund makes it possible for graduate nurse anesthesia students to provide supervised anesthesia in a third world country during their anesthesia education. A win for them in what they learn and for those who receive care they otherwise might not receive. After graduation, each CRNA who benefitted from the Jackie Davis Medical Mission Fund while in training, replaces what they used so the fund is sustained. This is the first year of the fund; right now the need is to build it up to a level that will allow it to be used effectively. We are pleased to contribute to third world health care through the education of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
